Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Fareham
Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Learning Support professional to join a respected school in Fareham. This role is tailored for individuals who are devoted to enhancing the educational experiences and outcomes of students with special education needs.

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support, you will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your role will involve supporting students with SEN to ensure they have access to the curriculum and can achieve their fullest potential.

SEN Learning Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, employing strategies designed to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans, working collaboratively with teachers and SEN coordinators.
  • Create a positive and supportive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem and confidence in students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, offering regular feedback to educators and parents.
  • Support classroom management and help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SEN team.
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of educational materials and resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students in developing social and emotional skills.

SEN Learning Support Job Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Learning Support are highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
  • The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
