SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Dibden Purlieu
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long-Term/Permanent, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming schools in Dibden Purlieu. In this rewarding role, you’ll work alongside a team of professionals to provide tailored support and encouragement to help students overcome challenges and reach their potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting students with their educational, emotional, and social development. By working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists, you’ll contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs).
  • Adapt lesson materials and resources to meet individual student needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and emotional well-being.
  • Support students in developing essential communication, social, and life skills.
  • Promote a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • A recognised qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with SEN strategies.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children’s success.
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviours is desirable.
