SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Locks Heath
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join nurturing schools in Locks Heath. This rewarding role will allow you to work closely with students, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a supportive educational environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will involve collaborating with teachers, parents, and professionals to provide tailored support for students with diverse needs. You will play a vital part in creating an inclusive and engaging atmosphere where every student can flourish.
Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning programs to suit individual needs.
- Adapt classroom materials to ensure lessons are accessible and meaningful.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and resilience through structured routines.
- Encourage the development of communication and social interaction skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support students effectively.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN or as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
- A recognised qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies, tools, and techniques to support learning.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Experience in managing challenging behaviours is an advantage.
