Key Responsibilities of Mental Health Support Worker:
- Assist in the development and implementation of mental health support plans tailored to each individual's needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to individuals with mental health challenges, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Regularly observe and record individuals' progress, ensuring they are making strides towards their goals.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each individual's mental health and well-being.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment where all individuals feel valued and supported.
- Use a variety of support techniques to engage and motivate individuals.
- Maintain accurate records of individuals' progress and report to healthcare professionals, families, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of Mental Health Support Worker:
- Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating your understanding of the unique challenges and needs of individuals with mental health issues.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals, families, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
- Ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs, exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
- Relevant qualifications or training in mental health support (desirable but not essential).
To work with us as a Mental Health Support Worker, you will need:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with us.
