Job Title: Autism Support Worker
Location: Poole
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time/Part-Time

Are you passionate about supporting students with autism to thrive in a positive and inclusive learning environment?

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a school in Poole.

In this role, you will work closely with students, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with autism, helping them engage in learning and school activities.
  • Implement strategies to support students in managing their behaviours and communication needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create tailored support plans for students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering the development of social skills.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates on their development as an Autism Support Worker.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with autism.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., in special educational needs, autism, or child development) are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
