Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored support to ensure they engage with the curriculum effectively. You’ll collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment where all students can flourish. Your key focus will be on fostering confidence, independence, and academic success for each student you work with.
Your Key Responsibilities as the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Individualized Support: Work directly with students, providing one-on-one or small group assistance to help them understand and complete tasks
- Adapting Learning Approaches: Assist in modifying lessons and materials to suit students' unique learning needs, ensuring every student can access the curriculum
- Fostering Positive Learning Environments: Help maintain a focused and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom, supporting students’ engagement and behaviour
- Monitoring and Tracking Progress: Regularly assess students’ development, offering constructive feedback to both students and teachers
- Collaboration: Work alongside the teaching team and other staff members to ensure that all students receive the support they need, both academically and emotionally
- Passion for SEN: A genuine desire to help students with special educational needs reach their potential
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with students, teachers, and parents
- Experience or Eagerness to Learn: Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, but we’re open to training the right candidate
- Adaptability and Patience: A flexible approach to working with diverse learners and the patience to address their varying needs
- Clear DBS: An up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS check or a willingness to obtain one
- Competitive Pay: Enjoy an hourly rate between £12.82 and £14.72, based on experience
