Job Title: Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

Responsibilities of the Mental Health Teaching Assistant:

· Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with mental health needs, helping them engage effectively with the curriculum.

· Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with mental health challenges.

· Work closely with teachers and support staff to create an environment of understanding and inclusion.

· Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to teachers, parents, and mental health professionals as needed.

· Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional, social, and academic growth.

Requirements of the Mental Health Teaching Assistant:

· Previous experience working with students with mental health needs or relevant training in mental health support is preferred.

· A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.

· A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students' well-being.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues.

· Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in a dynamic school environment.

· An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
