About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your focus will be to assist students who require additional support in their educational journey. You’ll work directly with individuals or small groups, offering customised assistance to help them better access the curriculum and gain confidence in their abilities. By partnering with teachers and other colleagues, you'll contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student has the chance to excel.

Key Duties of the SEN TA:

· Provide individual and small group support for students with SEN, helping them understand lessons and tasks.

· Adapt your approach to meet the individual learning needs of each student.

· Assist the teacher in delivering lessons that are engaging and accessible for all students.

· Track the progress of students and adjust support strategies to ensure their development.

· Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for each student.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

· Experience in working with SEN students is advantageous but not essential.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with students and staff.

· A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to supporting children with additional learning needs.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
