Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support in their learning journey. Your primary role will be to provide tailored assistance to individual students or small groups, helping them engage with the curriculum and build confidence. Collaborating with teachers and other professionals, you will contribute to creating an inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
· Provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
· Assist students in understanding lessons and tasks, adapting your approach to their specific learning needs.
· Support the teacher in delivering lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students.
· Track student progress and adjust your support strategies to help them overcome learning challenges.
· Collaborate with SENCOs and other staff members to ensure that students receive the best possible educational support.
What We’re Looking for in the SEN TA:
· Experience working with students with SEN is advantageous but not essential.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with both students and staff.
· A compassionate, patient approach to supporting children with additional learning needs.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the success of students.
· An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
