SEN Teacher

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent / Full time

Start Date: January 2025

GSL Education are looking for exceptional individuals to work as an SEN Teacher for students with special needs across client schools located in Bournemouth for the upcoming term of January 2025.

As an SEN Teacher, you must be hardworking, conscientious and full of energy, with a strong track record of raising attainment. The ideal candidate will be motivated and committed to providing support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups upon requirement.

As an SEN Teacher, your main responsibilities include:

· Delivering high-quality lessons to students across various subjects.

· Following lesson plans provided by the school, ensuring continuity in learning.

· Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.

· Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

· Communicating effectively with other staff members to ensure smooth transitions between lessons.

· Providing regular feedback on student progress and behaviour to the relevant staff.

As an SEN Teacher, you should have:

· A QTS/QTLS/PGCE on the relevant subject.

· Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).

· An ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance professional development.

· Empathy for young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.

· An ability to use own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, other teachers, and parents.

· Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
