GSL Education are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and driven SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant school community in Southampton.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, your focus will be on supporting students with special educational needs, offering them tailored assistance both individually and in small groups. You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure that students can fully engage in their lessons and feel confident in their abilities. Your work will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, enabling every student to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist students in engaging with and understanding lesson materials, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to deliver lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students.
  • Track and monitor students' progress, adjusting support techniques to meet their evolving learning needs.
  • Work alongside the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the best support is provided to students with SEN.

Requirements for the SEN Learning Support:

  • Previous experience in working with SEN students is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to build positive relationships with students and staff alike.
  • A patient, empathetic approach to supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Competitive Pay: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience).
