Job Title: SEN Learning Support

Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education have a wonderful opportunity for enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Learning Support to join a welcoming school in Havant. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to making a difference in the lives of children and assisting them to overcome learning barrier

Role Overview:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide individual and small group support. Your main goal will be to help students engage with their lessons, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential. You’ll be a vital part of the team, collaborating with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
  • Assist students with tasks, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum in a way that suits their needs.
  • Support the teacher in delivering differentiated lessons, ensuring that each student can access and participate fully in the learning process.
  • Track students' progress and adapt support strategies to suit their individual learning needs.
  • Work with other professionals, including SENCOs, to ensure that students with SEN receive the best possible support.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students is highly desirable for the SEN Learning Support role, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • A patient, compassionate approach to working with children with additional learning needs.
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
