Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Support to join a supportive school in Fareham. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students while gaining valuable experience in a rewarding educational setting.

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students with SEN in accessing the curriculum. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide individual and small group support, ensuring students are engaged and able to achieve their academic goals. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN by providing tailored assistance in class, working both one-to-one and in small groups as a SEN Learning Support Assistant.
  • Help students understand and complete tasks, offering support and encouragement to foster their confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to ensure that each student’s specific learning needs are met.
  • Work closely with SENCOs and other members of staff to ensure students with SEN receive the appropriate resources and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable, though not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting students in the SEN Learning Support role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve the best outcomes for students.
  • An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
