Job Title: SEN Learning Support

Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education have an exciting opportunity for you to join a supportive team as a Special Educational Needs Learning Support professional in Portsmouth.
About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop their learning skills. Your role as an SEN Learning Support professional will include providing tailored support in one-to-one and small group settings to ensure students receive the attention and assistance they need to thrive academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN.
- Assist with the delivery of lessons and activities, ensuring that SEN students are supported in line with their individual learning needs.
- Support students in understanding the curriculum and help them engage with learning tasks as part of your SEN Learning Support role.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, helping to adapt teaching methods to ensure their success.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with SEN students is highly desirable for this SEN Learning Support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with young people.
- An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
