Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southwark
Salary: £90 to £110 per day
GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive educational setting in Southwark. If you have experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) settings and are passionate about making a difference in students' lives, this is the opportunity for you!
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have special needs, including SEMH challenges and moderate learning difficulties. You will help create a positive and inclusive environment to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Support: Assist students in the classroom, ensuring they have access to a tailored learning experience.
- Encourage Progress: Foster independence and confidence in students while helping them achieve their educational goals.
- Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to deliver an integrated approach to learning.
- Safeguard Students: Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience working in SEND or SEMH settings is highly desirable.
- Skills: Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- DBS: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
