Disability Support Worker in Hythe

Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Hythe
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are looking for a caring and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join a supportive team in Hythe. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will assist students with disabilities, helping them to access education and develop life skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with disabilities.
  • Assist students in accessing their learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment as a Disability Support Worker.
  • Encourage students to develop independence and build life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to monitor students’ progress.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students with disabilities effectively.
  • Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role is beneficial.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with students with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
