Job Title: SEN Support Worker
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? GSL Education are searching for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join a welcoming school community in Eastleigh.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide tailored support to students, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment. As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive and empowering learning experience for each child.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with special educational needs (SEN) in accessing the curriculum and participating in class activities.
- Foster students’ ability to work independently, offering support where needed while promoting self-confidence.
- Provide guidance and support to students dealing with emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them manage their feelings and engage positively.
- Work closely with the teaching team to ensure students receive appropriate support, adapting learning strategies and materials to meet individual needs.
- Help students develop social skills and encourage positive interactions with peers in the classroom.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an SEN Support Worker or in a similar role is advantageous.
- A caring and patient approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
