Cover Supervisor

Daily Rate: £85 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)

Do you have the ability to maintain order and keep students on task while the teacher is absent? If so, GSL Education have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a school in Southbourne, with an immediate start available.
Position Summary:
In this role as a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in for absent teachers, delivering pre-prepared lessons, monitoring students’ progress, and maintaining a focused, respectful classroom. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth continuation of lessons, supporting students in their learning journey. You will need strong classroom management skills and the ability to remain calm and organized as you oversee a range of lessons across different subjects.
Primary Duties of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise students in the classroom during lesson time, ensuring they follow the set tasks and activities.
- Adhere to the lesson plans left by the teacher, facilitating students' learning effectively.
- Manage student behavior, promoting a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
- Provide support and assistance to students as they engage with the tasks assigned.
- Report back to teachers and staff on student participation, progress, and behavior.
- Encourage and motivate students, fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and active learning.
- Ensure all students have an opportunity to participate and succeed during class activities.
What We’re Looking for in a Cover Supervisor:
- A reliable and proactive individual with strong classroom supervision skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and an ability to build rapport with students.
- Experience in a classroom setting is an advantage, but not essential.
- A positive and calm demeanor to handle classroom dynamics effectively.
- Flexibility to work with different age groups and subjects.
- A willingness to support students in their learning while maintaining discipline and order.

To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
- Be authorized to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV along with two professional references from the past two years.
- Hold a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one via GSL Education.
