Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEMH and Behavioural Difficulties
Location: Wandsworth, SW18
Salary Range: £110 per day
Start time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural difficulties? 

If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team in Wandsworth (SW18). Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant – SEMH and Behavioural Difficulties:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create tailored learning plans.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively and positively.
  • Assist in classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning space.
  • Support the development of social skills and emotional resilience in students.
  • Monitor and report student progress to staff and parents/carers as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant – SEMH and Behavioural Difficulties:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH or behavioural difficulties (preferable).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
