Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Support Individual Learning Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-on-one and small group support tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance required to succeed.
- Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure each student is progressing towards their goals.
- Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
- Create a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Engage and Motivate Students: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
- Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to relevant parties.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Experience: Prior experience in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Commitment: Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping students with SEMH needs, exhibiting patience and empathy.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH education (desirable but not essential).
