Responsibilities of a Science Teacher

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and experimentation.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative resources and lesson plans.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and promote a passion for Science.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies in the classroom and beyond.

Requirements for a Science Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Specialisation in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) is preferred.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • An ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
