Design & Technology Technician
Are you a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician looking to support and inspire students in their creative and technical endeavors? We are seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Technician to join our secondary schools in southend on sea starting January 2025. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a thriving Design & Technology department, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and resources while helping students achieve their best.
As a Design & Technology Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining workshop tools and machinery, preparing materials for lessons, and providing technical support to both students and staff. Your role will be essential in creating a safe, innovative, and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to develop their skills in design, engineering, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff by preparing materials, tools, and equipment for lessons.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained and in safe working order.
- Provide technical assistance during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
- Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as required to maintain smooth departmental operations.
The ideal Design & Technology Technician will have a background in a technical or creative field, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude. Familiarity with workshop equipment, health and safety regulations, and experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
