Salary Range: Hourly - £12.82 to £14.72 (Depending on experience)

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in the daily running of the classroom. From aiding in lesson delivery to providing personalised support for students with additional needs, your contributions will be instrumental in fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere. You will collaborate closely with teaching staff, ensuring every child has the resources and encouragement they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Essential Qualities of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups, addressing their unique learning needs.
  • Promote a positive classroom culture, encouraging active participation and respect among students.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning.
  • Support students ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment, adhering to safeguarding policies at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.

Requirements of a Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Previous experience in an educational setting, childcare, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability and the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
  • A commitment to helping every child unlock their potential.
  • The ability to manage varied classroom scenarios with a calm and supportive approach.

What Do We Want From You: To thrive in these roles, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education).
