Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Hourly (Depending on Experience)

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the classroom teacher, assisting in the delivery of lessons and supporting students with their individual learning needs. Whether you are helping one-to-one or working with small groups, your focus will be on providing an inclusive and engaging environment that allows all students to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities of the TA:

  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
  • Provide targeted assistance to students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged and valued.
  • Work with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
  • Assist in monitoring student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to lesson planning.
  • A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting students’ learning.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • The ability to adapt to different learning styles and support students’ individual needs.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
  • Competitive pay rates of £12.82 - £14.72 per hour, depending on experience.
