Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on Experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

Job Overview

The role of an SEMH Teaching Assistant is both challenging and rewarding. You will work directly with students who experience SEMH difficulties, offering them tailored support and strategies to succeed academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning caused by SEMH difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to create individual learning and behaviour plans.
  • Build trust and positive relationships with students to enhance their confidence.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in managing behaviour effectively.
  • Monitor student development and provide feedback to staff and families.

Requirements:

To be considered for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you should bring:

  • Experience working with SEMH or SEN students in an educational setting.
  • A calm and encouraging approach to helping children succeed.
  • The ability to handle challenging behaviour with professionalism and care.
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
