Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Grantham

Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on Experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work at a school in Grantham. This role involves supporting students with Special Educational (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to succeed in both their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN/SEMH needs, ensuring their individual challenges are addressed.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop self-regulation skills.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons that are inclusive and engaging.
  • Supporting students in both group and one-on-one settings to foster their confidence.
  • Contributing to the development of strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with students to enhance their sense of safety and belonging.

To be successful as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you should have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs (essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
  • The ability to manage behaviour positively and confidently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and other staff.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the readiness to apply for one.
