Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Scunthorpe

Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on Experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-Time

Job Summary:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students with Special Educational (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in their learning environment. Your patience, kindness, and adaptability will be key to building strong, supportive relationships with the pupils and staff.

Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Supporting students with SEN/SEMH in the classroom and during activities.
  • Promoting positive behaviour management and helping students develop coping strategies.
  • Building trust and strong relationships with students to enhance their confidence and engagement.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with SEN/SEMH children (essential).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students and staff.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviours with confidence and care.
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.
