SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hayling Island
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Long Term/Permanent; Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for immediate start in Hayling Island.
In this role, you will play a vital part in helping children with various learning needs to excel academically and socially within the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to provide targeted support for students, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their individual potential as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Support students on a one-to-one or small group basis, catering to their specific special learning needs.
- Encourage the development of independence, confidence, and social skills in students.
- Help students to stay on task, providing additional explanations and guidance when necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure the classroom is an inclusive environment for all students.
- Support students with emotional, behavioural, and social challenges.
SEN Teaching Assistant Qualifications:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related fields would be an advantage.
- Previous experience working with SEN students or as an SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
- Understanding of various SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach.
