SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Waterlooville
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term/Permanent; Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Waterlooville.
In this role, you’ll help students with various learning needs achieve their full potential by providing essential support in their educational journey. Your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant will be working closely with teachers and other staff to deliver tailored support, creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to help children with SEN develop key life skills and academic success in a nurturing and supportive school setting.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEN.
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs, supporting students with specific learning goals.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and supporting students’ social development.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to monitor student progress and adapt learning approaches accordingly.
- Help students engage in activities, encouraging independent learning and personal growth.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare preferred.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or related field is advantageous.
- Experience in a similar role as a SEN Teaching Assistant or within a school environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
