SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Gosport
Pay Rate: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term/Permanent; Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in Gosport.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional guidance, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other specialists to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment tailored to individual needs. Whether providing one-to-one support or working within small groups, your contribution will be invaluable in helping students achieve their potential.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Offer personalised support to students with Special Educational Needs in one-to-one or group settings.
- Assist in implementing and reviewing IEPs and EHCPs to meet individual learning goals.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support teachers in managing behaviour and adapting lesson plans.
- Monitor and report on student progress to ensure effective support strategies.
- Encourage personal and social development through tailored activities.
Job Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
- Previous experience in schools as a SEN support or an SEN Teaching Assistant is beneficial.
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
