Cover Teacher
Location: Southampton
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/Permanent
Salary Scale: £110 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a committed and adaptable Cover Teacher to join one of our client schools in Southampton through planned and unplanned absences. Whether you're an experienced teacher or a confident Early Career Teacher (ECT), this opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while gaining versatile teaching experience.
As a Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-set lesson plans across various subjects, ensuring continuity in students' learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role is ideal for educators with strong classroom management skills, a flexible mindset, and a passion for fostering pupil development.
Responsibilities of a Cover Teacher:
- Delivering engaging lessons in line with the school's curriculum and policies.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Supporting students with their educational and social development.
- Collaborating with school staff to ensure the smooth running of lessons.
- Following safeguarding procedures to uphold pupil welfare.
Required Qualifications for a Cover Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, or significant teaching experience in UK schools.
- A strong knowledge of the national curriculum across key stages.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to new environments and teaching requirements.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new check.
