Cover Supervisor
Location: Locks heath
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/Part-time
Salary Scale: £85 – £100 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant school in Locks heath. You will work closely with school staff to create a positive and structured environment that promotes student engagement and academic success. This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting, whether as a step towards teacher training or a way to support local schools in providing consistent education.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. This role involves supervising and delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring that students stay on task during lessons.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged.
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans across various subjects, adhering to school policies.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Required Qualifications for a Cover Supervisor:
- Strong academic background, ideally with GCSEs or equivalent in core subjects.
- Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar environment is desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and manage behaviour effectively.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and willingness to complete relevant checks.
