Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Full-time, Temporary/Permanent
GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Sheffield, starting in January 2025.
Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to teach both literature and language to students, helping them develop a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. This position offers the chance to make a lasting impact on students’ academic journeys and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons, covering literature, language, and creative writing.
- Create a dynamic classroom environment where students feel inspired to explore different texts and develop their writing skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
- Prepare students for GCSE exams, ensuring they feel confident and ready.
- Work closely with colleagues to continuously improve the English curriculum.
- Foster a love of literature and language, making lessons relevant and exciting for all students.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent degree specialisation in English Education.
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject.
- Previous experience teaching English in schools is preferred, but NQTs are welcome to apply.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A passion for literature and a commitment to inspiring students.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
