Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with students at schools in Scunthorpe.
In this role, you’ll be supporting young learners with behavioural difficulties, helping them navigate their education journey and build essential life skills. By providing consistent guidance and a nurturing environment, you’ll enable students to overcome barriers and thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Provide targeted one-on-one or small group behavioural support to students.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour through reinforcement techniques and structured routines.
- Support students in regulating their emotions and managing their responses in challenging situations.
- Assist in monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Facilitate peer relationships and encourage social inclusion in classroom and extracurricular settings.
- Provide support when necessary, maintaining a calm and supportive presence.
Job Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or related fields is desirable.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline is advantageous.
- Previous experience working with students displaying challenging behaviours or as a Behaviour Support Assistant is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to changing needs.
