Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time

At GSL Education, we are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with students who require additional support at schools in Scunthorpe.

The Role:

This role involves assisting in the classroom, providing one-on-one guidance, and collaborating with the teaching team to implement personalised learning strategies. As an SEN TA, you’ll be at the heart of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide focused one-on-one and small group support.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and promoting positive engagement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

SEN TA Job Requirements:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SEN conditions, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in students' lives.
