Job Title: Early Career Teacher (Secondary)
Location: South Shields
Salary: £87 - £108 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our secondary school in South Shields. This role is perfect for newly qualified teachers seeking valuable experience and opportunities to develop their teaching practice in a supportive environment.

As an ECT, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting student learning, and contributing to a positive educational experience. You will be able to build on your skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic teaching environment.

Responsibilities as an ECT role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective and creative lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Engage and motivate students to achieve their academic potential.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to foster growth.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities.
  • Support the school’s values and contribute to creating an inclusive and safe learning environment.

Requirements for the ECT role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards full QTS.
  • Recent completion of teacher training (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to student success.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Willingness to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic teaching environment.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
