Teacher of History
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time
GSL Education are seeking a Teacher of History for a thriving Secondary school in York starting in January 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teacher looking to start their career in a local school, or an experienced Teacher looking for a reduced timetable and workload.
Teacher of History Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum or exam board specifications.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to make the subject matter interesting and accessible.
- Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment.
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the subject of History.
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Teacher of History Requirements:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status, with UK-based teaching experience.
- Hold a relevant Degree at 2:1 or higher.
- A strong and comprehensive knowledge of history, including current events and developments.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to innovate, enthuse and use your own initiative.
- Have a commitment to ongoing personal development and training.
- Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
