Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a thriving school in Southampton.

As a RE teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that foster a deep understanding of religious beliefs, values, and practices. The ideal candidate will be able to inspire students to think critically and engage with the subject matter in a meaningful way.

Job Responsibilities of the RE Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover the key concepts of religious studies, ensuring they align with the national curriculum.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment that encourages open discussion and critical thinking.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and tailored support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, development, and innovation.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold the school’s values and ethos, ensuring the wellbeing of students is prioritised.

Requirements of the RE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related subject.
  • Previous experience teaching RE at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS3 & KS4) is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Passion for religious education and the ability to engage students with a diverse range of beliefs and perspectives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
