Job Title: Residential Support Worker (Childcare)
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Daily Supply/Long Term, Part Time/Full Time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker specialising in childcare to join a well-established and supportive residential setting in Gateshead. This is a fantastic role where you can directly impact the lives of children and young people in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time hours, this role offers flexibility and the chance to make a real difference.

What we’re looking for in a Residential Support Worker (Childcare):

  • Experience in a residential care setting, ideally supporting children and young people with diverse needs.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude, with the ability to connect with children and support their individual needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both with children and colleagues, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children, promoting their well-being, independence, and development.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, as you may be required to adjust to changing needs and situations.
  • Provide one-on-one support to children in the residential care environment, helping them with day-to-day activities, learning, and personal development.
  • Support children in managing their emotions, offering guidance and positive reinforcement to help them grow in confidence.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual care plans, ensuring each child receives the best support tailored to their needs.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, ensuring that all children are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team, including teachers and specialists, to ensure the best outcomes for each child in your care.

Your Role as a Residential Support Worker (Childcare):

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
