About the Role:
We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic school community. In this key role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalized support to children with diverse learning needs, helping them flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant in Tower Hamlets, you will:
- Morning Support: Deliver tailored support to children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD and self-harming behaviors.
- Afternoon Flexibility: Offer vital assistance across Key Stages 1 and 2, adapting to different age groups and needs.
- Inclusive Learning: Create a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages every child to thrive.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work hand-in-hand with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized support plans and targeted interventions.

Early Years Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Nursery or Early Years Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proactivity & Resilience: A proactive and resilient individual with the ability to maintain high standards and bring out the best in students.
- Versatility: Willingness to assist with nappy changing and accommodate individual special educational needs.
- Expertise: Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Please note that a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential for this role. Successful candidates will need to pass all background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
