Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Dependent on experience)

 If so, GSL Education have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client school in Hook is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and support students in their educational journey.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of the learning environment, providing tailored support to students who require additional help to access the curriculum. You will play a key role in promoting independence, building self-esteem, and ensuring that each child feels supported and included. If you are compassionate, patient, and eager to make a positive difference, this role could be perfect for you.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Supporting individual students and small groups with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum in a way that suits their needs.
  • Assisting teachers in developing and implementing tailored learning plans to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Providing emotional support to students, encouraging them to develop confidence, social skills, and resilience.
  • Helping with personal care and mobility support, where necessary, to ensure students are comfortable and safe.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
  • Creating an inclusive environment where students feel valued, heard, and encouraged to participate fully in school life.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider school team to create a nurturing and positive classroom atmosphere.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with students with SEN is desirable, but a willingness to learn and develop is just as important.
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach to meet the varying needs of students in the classroom.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures is essential.
