Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN). You’ll work closely with teachers and other school staff to create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, valued, and able to reach their potential. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of challenges and wants to make a real difference to the lives of students with SEN.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), ensuring each student receives the appropriate support.
- Support students with personal care and mobility when needed, always ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and express themselves.
- Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress, adapt learning strategies, and provide feedback.
- Assist with behavioural management, promoting social skills, self-regulation, and positive interactions between students.
- Help students develop essential life skills, fostering their independence and self-confidence.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is preferred but not essential.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with a variety of needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
