SEND Teacher
Location: Wimborne
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Permanent / Full time
Salary Scale: £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to join a fantastic school in Wimborne. This role involves working with students who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum through adaptive teaching strategies and tailored support. You will collaborate closely with the SEND team to provide differentiated instruction and interventions, fostering both academic and personal development.
As a SEND Teacher, you will develop tailored lesson plans, provide one-to-one and small group support, and adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
Responsibilities of a SEND Teacher:
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to modify resources and lesson plans for SEND students.
- Apply strategies to manage behaviour effectively and cultivate a positive learning environment.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to support each student’s progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student development and assessments.
Required Qualifications for a SEND Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Proven experience working with children with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of SEND teaching methodologies and curriculum adaptations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
