Disability Support Worker

Location: Winton

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Full-time/Part-time

Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join a vibrant school, providing essential support within an inclusive school environment in Winton. In this role, you will assist students with disabilities, promoting their personal development and educational engagement.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be part of a dynamic team, committed to creating a positive and empowering experience for all students. Flexibility and patience are essential, as you will be working closely with children and young adults to adapt learning experiences to their needs.

Responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with varying disabilities
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
  • Facilitate social, emotional, and educational engagement in classroom settings
  • Communicate regularly with teaching staff and families regarding student progress
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that respects the dignity of all students

Required Qualifications for a Disability Support Worker:

  • Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a related support role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with disabilities
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new check
