GSL Education are seeking a proactive and compassionate Disability Support Worker in an outstanding school located in Fareham. This position is critical for delivering children with disabilities personalised assistance so they can thrive both academically and socially. Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

About The Role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll work closely with students who require additional assistance due to physical, developmental, or learning challenges. This role involves building trusting relationships and helping students access a full, enriching educational experience. In this role, you will support students’ physical, emotional and social needs, providing a safe and inclusive environment that enables them to thrive.

Responsibilities of the Disability Support Worker:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students with disabilities.
  • Assisting with daily tasks, ensuring students’ comfort and safety.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to create a supportive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging students’ independence and confidence through tailored guidance.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies as required.

Disability Support Worker Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, or a similar support role in a classroom or school setting, is preferred.
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including physical disabilities, SEND etc.
  • Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
