Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £87 - £108 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term

This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a nurturing environment.
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students develop the social and emotional skills they need to succeed. Your support will create a positive learning environment where every child feels safe and valued.
Responsibilities of the SEMH TA:
- Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
- Foster positive relationships with students, helping them feel understood and supported.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and uphold school policies.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff about student progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and record student attendance and performance.
Requirements of the SEMH TA:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs, is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and well-being.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
