SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hayling Island
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Salary Scale: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join vibrant school in Hayling Island. This role will contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Your expertise and commitment will help deliver targeted assistance, ensuring students remain engaged and empowered in their learning journey.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their learning and social goals.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Deliver one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualised learning plans (IEPs).
- Support classroom activities and adapt resources to meet students' unique requirements.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning and development.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to enhance educational outcomes.
- Monitor and report on student progress to relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEN.
- A minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, empathetic approach.
- A sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or apply for a new one.
