SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Havant

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

Salary Scale: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Havant. The role requires sensitivity, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards helping children achieve their personal best. This role involves supporting students with varying levels of SEN, helping to develop both their academic and social skills within a structured yet nurturing school setting.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be integral to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students with diverse learning needs. You will actively contribute to daily learning activities, support behaviour management, and provide one-to-one assistance as necessary.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist students with special educational needs in their daily academic tasks.
  • Implement tailored support strategies in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Aid in social skill development and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and record student progress under teacher guidance.

Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role (SEN experience preferred).
  • Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to provide an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or apply for a new check.
