Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield S9
Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full Time / Day-to-Day Role Available
GSL Education are excited to be looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to work at a school in Sheffield (S9). As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task and follow the lesson plans provided. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and has the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively. Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring they remain on task and engaged with the lesson.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and activities to students.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Provide support to students as needed, answering questions and helping with learning tasks.
- Ensure students follow the school's policies and procedures, including health and safety rules.
- Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
- Monitor and record student progress during lessons.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor:
- Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments and year groups.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for working with students.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans effectively.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
