Art Teacher
Location: Sheffield S9
Salary: £150 - £200 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2025
Contract Type: Full Time (Temp-to-Permanent for the right candidate)

As an Art Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver exciting and dynamic lessons across a range of year groups, helping students develop their artistic skills and express themselves creatively. The school is looking for someone who can bring energy and creativity into the classroom, while also maintaining high standards of discipline and academic achievement.

Responsibilities of the Art Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons across key stages, ensuring they meet the needs of all students.
  • Develop students' artistic skills and help them build confidence in expressing their creativity.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular projects.
  • Organise and promote extra-curricular activities, such as art clubs or exhibitions.
  • Foster a love for the arts and encourage students to explore a variety of artistic techniques and media.
  • Prepare students for assessments and exams, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Requirements for the Art Teacher:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A passion for Art and creativity, with the ability to inspire students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
  • Experience in teaching Art at secondary level (desired, but not essential for ECTs).
  • A positive, proactive approach to teaching and learning.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
